"Fall Favorites" September Stamp of the Month 2012
"Fall Favorites" is one of my favorite stamp of the month sets! I could not wait to open it and get to work! I created the following 2 page scrap-booking layout based on a sketch from the Let's Scrap Ning Site.

Sketch Challenge from Let's Scrap
What do you think?

This was my very first time using the NEW Markers from Close to my Heart! They are so much fun to use! I used three colors. Pacifica, Olive, and Autumn Terracotta. Each marker comes with a complementary marker in a shade darker OR lighter then the parent color.

I think I did pretty well for my first attempt using these markers. I do not have Stays On ink yet- which is recommended for using with the new markers. (So I improvised and stamped my Chocolate Ink then clear embossed it to seal it in.) I can see where I will get more confident with them each time I use the markers. They can do SO much! Do you see where I was able to create brown? I didn't have a brown marker, but I used a few layers of Autumn Terracotta and Olive, letting it dry in between.

Supplies:
  • "Fall Favorites" September Stamp of the Month
  • Markers: Pacifica, Olive, Autumn Terracotta
  • Card Stock: Bamboo Bases, Sunset Orange, Cocoa, and Colonial White for stamped images
  • Chocolate Ink Pad and Clear Embossing Powder sealed with Heat Gun
  • Hemp Twine accent tied in bow
  • Sunset Ink for sub title
  • Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge for Title letters
  • Mischief Papers
I hope you like my project! Please leave comments so that I know what you think. If you would like to find out more about how to order this stamp set for your collection please contact me or visit my website. www.heatherjane.ctmh.com

New Arrival Card: Inspired by #37, SSS172, and Focal Point

I always get so excited creating cards to celebrate new life! I can't wait to get the above card out in the mail!

The focal point of this card is the layered square scallop with the sentiment on it. Focal points do not always have to be in the middle. I set this one apart from the rest by using 3D foam tape to add dimension and create shadowing. I am entering this card in the Moxie Fab World Blog Challenge to show "Focal Point". You can play along too!

I LOVE this sentiment from the "New Arrival" Stamp Set from Close to my Heart. This sentiment was the reason I HAD to buy this stamp set. It just melts my heart and sums up what it feels like to be a new parent or grandparent.

The photo from the Inspired By #37 challenge was my inspiration for color and texture.

I used the design on this sketch to create my card by. I found it on The Sweet Step Sketch Challenge Blog. The spin on this sketch was to use die cuts or punches. I used square punches and a scallop square I cut on my cricut with the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to my Heart.

NEW Product Blog Hop!

See what you can make with all of the NEW Products in the Autumn/Winter 2012 Close to my Heart Idea Book! Just follow along this blog hop to see what Consultants have been creating. If you arrived here from Jody's Blog, Making Time for Memories, then you are on the right track!

I created this two page layout using the NEW "Dakota" Workshop on the Go Kit! It is my FAVORITE. The barn wood texture paper is amazing and so much fun to create with. I used pattern 09 on page 22 of the "Make it from Your Heart, Vol 1" pattern book- also NEW.

The burlap ribbon is another one of my FAVORITE items from the NEW Idea Book! It was the first item I purchased. I used it in this layout as one of the vertical design elements- a long pennant/banner.

I was very excited to see that we will now carry a set of metallic markers! I love how they look against dark card stocks and as shiny accents to color stamped images in with. Also in the above photo is a piece of the zip strip from the "Dakota" kit.

"100% Cowboy Tough" is a stamp from the set that comes only in the kit. I accented it with the gold mettalic marker.

Now hop over to Susan's Blog, Stamping in the open, and see the fun things she has created!
