Black and White and Red!

What's black and white and red all over? A wedding card that celebrates love! :)

When I get an invitation to a Wedding I get really excited! I try to craft a card that matches the style of the invitation. I know that the Bride and Groom put a lot of thought and effort into picking out an invitation design that was special to them. The invitation to this wedding had a black background with white text and a doily/henna style design on it.

The journaling spots pockets were a perfect match for this card! I stamped a sentiment on the tag that slides out and replaced the string with Cranberry Red ribbon.

I have entered this card in the Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge. The Challenge was to paper craft an item using black and white and only one other color. This is a really fun blog to enter artwork you create using Close to my Heart products. You can play along too!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: Fancy Schmancy

This week's Inspiration photo on the Moxie Fab World Blog- Tuesday Trigger was a lot of fun to work with!

 

I used it to create a card of encouragement to give to a family member who is going through cancer treatments. I used a square card to focus in on the cross section of the tiny cake like treat in the inspiration photo. I used a pattern stamp to create texture on the bottom layer of the cake. Pink ribbon from Stampin Up was the perfect item to act as the pink filling. Kraft paper made a great top layer. The lightest pearls from the Mocha set of opaques from Close to my Heart topped it off. I put them in a scattered pattern just like they are in the inspiration photo.

Coffee Card

Such a cute card sketch this week at Mojo Monday's Blog challenge!

 

I used it to create a special birthday card for a co-worker of mine. She LOVES coffee so the coffee mug stamp from the Wonderland set was the perfect fit!

I also used the Pemberly background and texture paper that is in the NEW Idea book from Close to my Heart. The square Kraft paper cards are a lot of fun. The steam coming up out of the mug is a stamp from the Rock the Block stamp set. The brown ribbon accent is from the Ribbon Rounds.

Pretty Birthday Card

I love to create handmade Birthday cards for friends! I love the modern and trendy look of the polka dot paper from the "You and Me" Kit from Close to my Heart. When I paired it with the satin cream ribbon I loved how it looked.

Oct 1st: World Card Making Day!

Today is World Card Making Day! I love to celebrate, so I had to participate! :) I made a card that I am so excited about, because it was one of those that started falling into place easily as I worked. Ideas just kept coming to me! A Birthday Card, Ta Da!

I based the layout on this Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I really liked the grid idea, and lining up the elements. I am also going to enter this card in the World Card Making Day Card Contest. (Wish me luck! and there is time to enter yourself, the deadline is to postmark by the 11th!)
