Gifts from the Heart! H2H

It is the season of giving! One of my favorite ways to give is a personalized handmade gift that I create myself. I don't always have time to get to everything I dream up, but I had to share one I had at the top of my list!

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart is "Gifts From The Heart". This was the perfect motivation that I needed to move this project to the top of my list where things actually get done! Thank you H2H for helping me!

"Home sweet Home" was my idea for a great gift for some of our Family that lives far away, but is always in our hearts. We cannot always have Christmas together, but we want them to know that they are loved.

I cut the letters for HOME on my Cricut with Art Philosophy. The "O"s are represented by the respective States which we live in. I then highlighted the city we live in with a paper heart on 3D foam tape. I added stitch lines between the cities. Gold sequins as accents. I will put into an 8x10 frame before I gift it.

What Gifts from the Heart will YOU be giving this year?! Enter them in the Heart 2 Heart blog challenge!

New Watercolor Paints = MUD! (H2H)

One might think that when you look at a new set of Watercolor paints that you might feel encouraged to paint something femanine and beautiful... Not me! I took one look at my new Watercolor paints from Close To My Heart and thought- "YES! I am going to make MUD!" Even better is that I can enter it as an example for the Heart 2 Heart "watercolor" challenge going on this month!

I created this layout with my new Urban Paper Collection. The pictures in it are of a time that my family took my now Hubby out to get to know him and have fun before we got married- Mudding with Go Carts!

For my "mud" I used a lot of water on a medium brown. I got my paintbrush loaded up with lots of soupy paint. I then karate chopped it against my arm above my layout. (BEFORE my photos were attached!) I got all kinds of different effects by just playing with it and adding it layer by layer until I felt "done".

I think the watercolor mud brings my whole finished layout together.

My Husband really did think that day was pretty awesome! He had a lot of fun gasing up engines and racing with my uncles and cousins.

I am so happy to have this layout included in my wedding album now! Excited to share this memory with others.

Through the Window Challenge at Heart 2 Heart!

We are starting off the month of November with a great challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges (using your CTMH products)! The new challenge is "Through The Window". What comes to mind for you? How could you use a Window on a page or card?

I used a Window on a scrapbook page! I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge and cut out a window frame. (I set it to real dial size 9). I filled the window panels with 4x4 pictures of the things I see out the window at my house. I really LOVE where I live and love the view I have of our family farm!

For my title I combined a cricut cut heart with different alphabet stamps, as well as a cricut cut shape. I used letters from the CTMH cartridge and welded them together in Cricut Craft Room before I cut. (I love not having to worry about loosing the dot for my 'i'!)

How will YOU interpret this challenge? I can't wait to see what you make. You have the whole month of November to play along. Hope you join us.

Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge

I LOVE a sketch challenge! I'm so excited that this is the current challenge over at Heart 2 Heart!

I decided to apply this sketch to a scrapbook page since I need to work on my Wedding Album. I thought the circles could look like rings!

I used the NEW Cricut bundle, Artistry, from Close To My Heart for the diamond on my ring. I also used glitter paper for the solid layer of the diamond. The stars under the diamond are a stamp from the October Stamp Of The Month! (It's not JUST for Christmas!)

The sketch was so much fun! I hope you can play along too. Just post your entry by the end of the month!

Happy Crafting!

Workin' 9-5, Wanderful

Have you scrapbooked a layout for yourself about your day job? Now is the perfect time to do so! Why not document the place you dedicate so much of your time to? Over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog we are looking for your entries for the theme of "Workin' 9-5"! You have until the end of this month to enter.

For my design (as part of the "Team Slate- Design Team") I created a layout for my Husband using the Wanderful Paper Collection. I found that he has some fun work photos on his cell phone, so I got those printed out to tell his story. I wish I had done another one of these years ago for him and also for myself. It just doesn't always come to mind to take pictures at work or document that day to day detail.

My hubby does a lot of driving for work. The stickers from the complements set worked perfectly because they spell out "Here, There, and Everywhere"... The same answer I get when I ask where he worked that day!

I needed to add a few extra pictures to this layout so I used a flip flap. The "There" sticker made a perfect "tab" to lift the flap with. I put the sticker right on the flap then covered the remaining sticky section with reinforcing cardstock.

So, where do you spend YOUR 9-5 hours? Have you told that story in your scrapbook yet? I can't wait to see how you play along with this challenge!

Happy Crafting!

Ticket to Ride, H2H Challenge with Zoe Papers

"Ticket to Ride" is this week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart! This was a great time for me to finally scrap a few photos from a couple years ago... Lawnmower Rides with Daddy!

It's a simple moment, so I wanted to keep the layout clean and simple. I used the NEW (Early Released) Paper Collection from Close To My Heart called "Zoe".  This paper is both cheerful and adorable.

The "One Happy Day" sentiment on the zip strip seemed fitting for my photos. I added a couple accents from the Complements Sticker pack.

This "Me & You" sticker was too cute not to use under this picture!

Needed a little something on the upper portion of the Right Hand page... A couple stars, and pennant, and a quick tie of glacier twine.

You have the rest of the month to play along with the Challenge at Heart 2 Heart. What inspires you to scrapbook when you hear the theme "Ticket To Ride"? Can't wait to see what you create!

Wanderful Layout #1

It's almost time for August, which means it's almost time for "Wanderful"- our August class theme! This paper collection from Close To My Heart is... well... WANDERFUL! (hehe)

Wanderful layout #1 is based upon a sketch challenge I entered at "Let's Scrap Challenge Blog"! My interpretation of the sketch is a scatter of photos, hand stamped journaling elements, arrow washi tape, and airplanes. I always feel the need to add in in just a couple more photo wells! (Sorry this layout is not filled with my photos yet, but I am waiting on the prints to arrive. It will be a page about my husband's trip out to Colorado to visit family!)

You can play along with the sketch challenges at let's scrap twice a month. Check in on the 1st and the 15th. It is a great way to hit the ground running when you work on your scrapbooking. You sit down to work with a pattern already decided!

Absolutely LOVE this arrow washi tape! It adds the perfect detail and is super quick and easy! It makes a layout look finished, much the way making a bed makes a bedroom appear more put together instantly.

I loved this sentiment above! "It feels good to be lost in the right direction". Adorable!

Recipe-
-Wanderful Paper Pack (Get it before its gone!)
-Wanderful Stamp set from kit (out of stock)
-Wanderful Assortment (out of stock)
-Washi Arrows
-Circle punches or Cricut Circles
-Inks: Flaxen and Black
-Grey Cardstock

Life Is GOOD!

This week's challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog is "Life is Good". I was sorting through some photos and wonder what pictures I might use for this challenge... I stopped at this stack because as I was looking through the pictures I got a feeling inside that "Life IS good!". It felt like the right fit!

Life is good, and the paper I used is "Wanderful"! :) I love that there is PURPLE in it!

What better day to feel that "Life is GOOD", then on your Birthday!?

I hope you like my entry for my position on Team Slate of the Design Team. I encourage you to look through your photos and scrapbook the stack that speaks to you and gives you that feeling that "Life is Good". There is time to play along until the end of the month. I hope to see your take on the challenge in the entries!

Happy Crafting!

Life is a Beach!

Life is a Beach! I am beyond excited to submit my FIRST project created for my FIRST time ever serving on a Design Team. I am a member of Team Slate at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog! This has been an item on my Bucket List for a couple of years now. It feels so good to be taking part in this adventure.

Learn more about how you can join in on the Challenge: Life is a Beach! Plus, get inspired by what the Design Team has come up with!

Summer is in full swing and it's the perfect time to set aside the chance to go play and enjoy the beautiful weather! It was a rainy day that I took the chance to escape to my craft room and create this layout for some of my FAVORITE Beach photos!

For my layout I followed along with a Sketch Challenge from Let's Scrap, 7-1-15! I hope you like my take on it.
I created my 2 page layout using the paper pack, "Brushed", from Close To My Heart. I loved how the pages matched my daughter's swim suit, plus the Sticker Complements made the perfect Title- "Sassitude"!

The other stickers from the Complements sheet coordinated nicely with some of the embellishment opportunities on the sketch!

Visit the other Team Members from the "Team Slate" Design Team and check out what may inspire you to create your "Life Is A Beach" project! Don't forget to link your creation up to the challenge!

Thanks for stopping in to see what I've been creating!

Life is a Picnic!

Life is... a lot of things! This week I call it a "Picnic"! Do you have any adorable photos that deserve a title like this?!

I created this title accent with the July 2015 Stamp Of The Month- "Life is Wonderful".

This theme is a challenge over at the Heart 2 Heart Blog! You have the month of July to play along with how the phrase "Life is a Picnic" fits your crafting goals. Check it out and join in the fun!

Brushed papers from Close To My Heart are the prefect complement to my Picnic photos! Green lawn with a touch of pink and yellow.

The above journaling blocks and "Joy captured" accent are stamps from the Brushed Workshop On The Go Kit! The metal accent flowers were part of the kit too, but can be purchased separately now that the kit is retired and out of stock! Get your brushed paper pack while supplies last!

Looking forward to Strawberry Picking!

I am looking forward to Strawberry Picking so much that I have already created the 2 page scrapbook layout that the photos I will take in the future will go into! (Did you stay with me on that? heheh!)

I am submitting this creation to the Heart 2 Heart challenge titled "Tutti Fruitti". The challenge was to create a project with FRUIT in it. The new "Taste of Summer" paper pack had exactly what I needed to be "Fruitti". There is a challenge at this blog each week and you have until the current month to enter, the only rule is that you use Close To My Heart supplies when you create. If you haven't played along there yet I strongly encourage it, it is so much fun to have extra motivation to get your projects done!

My layout was also inspired by a sketch template that I found at Scrapbook Generations Blog. Check this site out to see some of their older retired sketch issues that are now available free once you create an account.

Recipe:
- May 2015 Stamp of the Month "Just Sayin'" (S1505)
- Taste of Summer Paper Pack (May 2015 Constant Campaign)
- Taste of Summer Stamp Set (May 2015 Constant Campaign)

Use Your Stash Blog Hop, "If You Stamp It They Will Love It!"

If you are joining us for the "Use Your Stash Blog Hop" you are right on track. WELCOME! You should be coming from Nicole's Blog, "Moments2treasure". If you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers on Shirley's Blog, "Mom 'n Me Scrap". Let's get started. Today I am showcasing the challenge which was to find a stamp set I've had for a while and have not yet used, "If you Stamp it they will Love it!"...

The stamp set I have had for some time now and not yet used is called "Illuminate" from Close To My Heart. It was a Stamp Of The Month from a couple of years ago! I just couldn't let it go, even though I had not even used it!

The "Illuminate" stamp set has this cute little phrase and candle that are perfect for setting the tone for my daughter's First Communion layout! I added a tiny sparkle to the dot of the "i" in "Bright".

A 2nd stamp from this set had another perfect saying for the pages I needed to make. "If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person." I love the sentiment of this. I am so glad I held onto this stamp set, and I am so glad I finally used it! What stamp set have you been holding onto that needs to be put to use?

Wanted to share just a little bit about how I keep my stamp sets (used or not) organized! Above you see a picture of my two large organizer bins. I keep one bin filled with current stamp sets, as a Consultant I need to keep track of what is still available to purchase. The 2nd bin is filled with retired stamp sets that are no longer available and no longer current. When a bin gets full I must get rid of something to make space! It's a rule I made to keep myself organized.

Above you see two smaller stamp organizer bins. One is for Christmas stamp sets, the 2nd is for Cricut bundle stamp sets.

This is where I keep stamp sets I am working with or planning to use soon! These are small wooden bins I found at Goodwill and painted with a coat of white spray paint. I like that the stamps have a place to be that is where I can reach them, and keeps them from being a pile on my desk that spills about.

Thank you for hopping with us!

Now hop on over to Sharesa's Blog, "Sharesa's Sweet Yesterdays", for more ideas of using up your stash!

Let's Scrap Hexagons with Jackson Paper!

It is time to jump into the NEW Jackson paper from Close To My Heart! This is Layout #1! I could NOT wait to cut into this paper set. I took it with me to the big Boyne Scrapbooking retreat the first weekend of May. (My Mother's Day gift- an escape from day to day responsibilities, it was Oh so nice!)

I had the help of this beautiful sketch challenge from the Let's Scrap Sketches Blog! It "had me at Hexagons". The stamp set that goes with Jackson has hexagons in it, couldn't be a better pairing!

This is my interpretation of the hexagon cluster on the sketch template. I used a few word stamps to add subtitles here, as well as room to journal if needed. The diamond shapes were so quick and easy to add, self adhesive accents from the "Brave Enamel Shapes" (Z3073- $6.95).

This accent cluster is one stamped hexagon, one paper punched hexagon, and one enamel diamond.

I used paper scraps to create pennant shapes and layered an enaml shape and a stamped hexagon on top.

Hope you can join us for our Jackson Workshop on June 13th! Invite your friends. We will create the layout above as one of the 4 layouts we will make. You also could choose to create a set of 15 cards. More project photos will be posted soon!

Happy Crafting!
