New Arrival Card: Inspired by #37, SSS172, and Focal Point

I always get so excited creating cards to celebrate new life! I can't wait to get the above card out in the mail!

The focal point of this card is the layered square scallop with the sentiment on it. Focal points do not always have to be in the middle. I set this one apart from the rest by using 3D foam tape to add dimension and create shadowing. I am entering this card in the Moxie Fab World Blog Challenge to show "Focal Point". You can play along too!

I LOVE this sentiment from the "New Arrival" Stamp Set from Close to my Heart. This sentiment was the reason I HAD to buy this stamp set. It just melts my heart and sums up what it feels like to be a new parent or grandparent.

The photo from the Inspired By #37 challenge was my inspiration for color and texture.

I used the design on this sketch to create my card by. I found it on The Sweet Step Sketch Challenge Blog. The spin on this sketch was to use die cuts or punches. I used square punches and a scallop square I cut on my cricut with the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to my Heart.

Footloose Layout #4: Sunny Skies!

This was the final layout that I created with my Footloose Kit. I call it Sunny Skies. :)

Layout from Let's Scrap Ning Blog: 2 V 4x6, 2 H 4x5 or crop to squares and create a grid.
I was inspired by the following sketch from the Let's Scrap Sketch Challenge.

I used the B&T Duo (background and texture) paper with the side that has a sun in the top left corner as one of my page bases. I added emphasis to the sun by tracing it with shimmery glitz gel in the shade called "stardust".

I stamped my wooden coins with sand dollars. (From the stamp set that comes with the Footloose kit). I also added hand trimmed fliflop "footprints" that I stamped from the "Just Chillin'" stamp set!

This layout was perfect to showcase a day at my Aunt and Uncle's beach house! The kids dug for seashells and had a great time!

Footloose Layout #3

I am loving the Footloose kit from Close to my Heart! This might be my favorite layout that I created with it!

Footloose Layout #3: 8 photos: 1 V 4x6, 1 Sq 4x4, 6 Sq 2.25x2.25

The papers were perfect to feature one of our summer traditions- a once a summer trip to a nearby resort, Crystal Mountain, to use their water park! The water swirl patterned paper compliments any pool photos really well!

I used the edge distressing tool to add a little white curl to the Lagoon Photo Mats I made. It helps it stand out from the patterned paper it is against.

I used the color ready adhesive alphabet I found in the while supplies last section of my Close to my Heart  website. (only I left them white and didn't color them- hehhe)

This zip strip had the perfect summer day by the pool sayings on it. I left it in tact as a full strip, but you can also cut it apart and use on the sayings you love best as accent details.

Footloose Layout #2: Bubbles!

It is not officially summer until we have spent time blowing bubbles outside! I had some fun photos of doing just that last summer so I used my Footloose workshop on the go kit from Close to my Heart to create this 2 page layout.

Footloose Layout #2: 1 H 4x6, 4 V 3x4
Sketch from "Sketch Support"
I found this layout on Pinterest. I have it saved on my board called "Sketches". It is from a website called "Sketch Support", visit either of these spots for sketch inspiration! Crisp Daisy White bases make the colors and textures of the paper "pop". The zip strip draws in a little of the yellow from the patterns and flesh tones in the photos.

Bubbles made using clear buttons from the "while supplies last" section.

For bubbles I found clear buttons in the "while supplies last" section of my Close to my Heart website! I placed them in visually appealing groupings of 3-5 in the areas suggest on the sketch. I added stamped bubbles underneath and a few vellum punched circles. (at class we will use only the clear buttons as I like them best and my example was a bit of an experiment). We will also use the corner rounder on the patterned paper.

Spatter Technique Challenge, Footloose Preview!

This spatter technique challenge at Moxie Fab World Blog caught my eye the moment I saw it! I've actually been looking for an excuse to get my spatter spray pen out again and make something other then snow with it. So what's the opposite of snow? SAND! (have you been working with a spatter technique? You could play along too!)

This is one of the layouts I made with my "Footloose" Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart. It was screaming for "sand"! Plus, I had some great pictures of my son spending the day playing in sand.

I used a spray pen + pearl paint + dessert sand reinker = golden glimmering sand.

You don't have to worry about getting the spatter just right because we will be placing photos on top of it and the sand will act as a detailed backdrop.

For the horizon line of this 2 page layout I used blue sky (or blue water) patterned paper. (You interpret it how you see fit). I added the zip strip bands to look like sand dunes in the distance (or a shoreline). The title is made with the color ready adhesive alphabet from the While Supplies Last section of my website. You can also use your Cricut to cut title letters for this page.

Supplies:

- Footloose workshop on the go kit
- Spray Pens
- Create-a-shade paint in "Pearl"
- Dessert Sand (brown) Re-inker
- Color Ready Adhesive alphabet
