Footloose Layout #4: Sunny Skies!

This was the final layout that I created with my Footloose Kit. I call it Sunny Skies. :)

Layout from Let's Scrap Ning Blog: 2 V 4x6, 2 H 4x5 or crop to squares and create a grid.
I was inspired by the following sketch from the Let's Scrap Sketch Challenge.

I used the B&T Duo (background and texture) paper with the side that has a sun in the top left corner as one of my page bases. I added emphasis to the sun by tracing it with shimmery glitz gel in the shade called "stardust".

I stamped my wooden coins with sand dollars. (From the stamp set that comes with the Footloose kit). I also added hand trimmed fliflop "footprints" that I stamped from the "Just Chillin'" stamp set!

This layout was perfect to showcase a day at my Aunt and Uncle's beach house! The kids dug for seashells and had a great time!

July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to the July Stamp of the Month, "Live Out Loud", Blog Hop! If you arrived here from Karen Fullam's Blog, "Enriching Memories", you are on the right track. Visit all the blogs along this hop and you are sure to feel inspired. Each participating Consultant has created a unique project using this same stamp set. Look for links at the bottom of each post to take you to the next blog on the hop.

This month's stamp set has great word phrases that are perfect for both statement cards or scrapbook layouts. This stamp set features 8 stamps that fit on the following block sizes: 1" × 3 1/2" (Y1002), 3" × 3" (Y1006), 2" × 6 1/2" (Y1010).

I loved the "Just Be!" sentiment and used it on my Son's 2nd Birthday layout to create a title saying "Just Be 2!" :) I used the stamp on a 2 inch circle and layered it to make a medallion. (The Juniper circle is 2 1/4 and the starburst circle is 2 1/2). I also used the Typeset Paper Pack and positioned the paper to feature the "2". I based my layout on the sketch at "Let's Scrap" Ning Blog Sketch Challenge. (It's a great site for layout/sketch inspiration!).

I haven't gotten to the other projects I want to make with this stamp set just yet, but I have something in mind for each sentiment. "Soar" will be for my daughter's day spent with a pet butterfly she fell in love with. "Imagine the Possibilities" is great for graduation!

Hope you had fun seeing what I created! Now hop on over to Erin's blog, "CreatErin", and see what she has crafted up!

Happy Easter

I hope you all had a Happy Easter! We sure did! Church, dinner, egg hunts... We hosted Easter dinner at our house and our parents brought all the fixings to us, plus some great basket gifts for our kiddos. Before they had even left I had already started brainstorming a Thank You card I would like to make.

I smiled as I considered a chocolate bunny with a bite out of him as the perfect subject of my card! When I was making it I even laughed a little bit to myself. He's just too cute! I stamped the bunny in chocolate ink and then trimmed him out by hand. I used my scallop punch to take a "bite" out of his back, one that looks like two big teeth.

When my family was over for Easter it was not TOO formal. They politely looked over the "craft room" that is temporarily a counter in my kitchen. I am in the middle of a few projects so I tidied it up, but did not make it disappear prior to our Easter. But, they could not resist noticing a jar on my type tray organizer... titled "Bunny Butts"! It got a few giggles and sparked a couple conversations... :) So, it is only too approriate that I use one of the said "bunny butts" as a fluffy tail on these cards!

The new sketch challenge for April from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog was perfect for this card! The bitten bunny is the accent on the lower corner. An Easter egg is by his side. The different colored bands are chevrons cut from the Dotty For You paper pack promotion. The polka dot backgrounds are from the same pack. The "Grateful for you" sentiment is from the Pemberley stamp set that comes with the Pemberley workshop on the go kit from Close to my Heart.

This Easter themed card fits the challenge from Cas-ual Fridays blog challenge CFC#47.

Superhero Preview: Layout #4!

This is layout #4 that I created with my Superhero kit from Close to my Heart. (CTMH)  I based it from the sketch pattern titled "Spellbound" from page 50 of the How-to Book, "Magic". This has been my favorite how-to book, I use it all of the time!

The little badge that reads "Vroom!" was perfect to pair up with this photo of my God-Son driving the little foot car in our living room! I set mine on the corner of the photo for extra emphasis, but any of the badges from the kit could be placed anywhere on this layout and still work.

I created this title with my new Cocktail Alphabet set! It has uppercase and lowercase letters. I tihnk it is really handsome for a boy page, but still cute enough for a girl page. I added the white chipboard stars and left them just the way they came in the kit. I really like how the white looks against the sky blue.

If you are able to attend the workshop I will have a table set up for you to create custom titles with my alphabet stamp sets and cricut. This is a great resource to take advantage of if you are able to plan the photos and theme for the page ahead of time.

Supply List:
-Superhero Kit
-2 Daisy White Cardstock Bases
-Cocktail Alphabet for title
-Pacifica Ink Pad
-White Chipboard stars
-Magic How-to Book: Pattern on page 50, "Spellbound"

Photo Sizes:
-3, 3x3
-3, 4x6 V

If this looks like a layout you would like to learn to create with me- then you won't want to miss the workshop being held on April 21st! Find the details here! Facebook Event on Heather Jane Design

"A Hop" Easter Card

The now retired. "A Hop" stamp set from Close to my Heart is irresistible! When I saw it the bunny screamed "chocolate!" and "bunny butt!". Heehhehe.

I stamped the bunny in "chocolate" ink so that he would really look "chocolate". But then I didn't stop there, I HAD to add a googly eye and fuzzy ("bunny butt") tail! I loved the look of the chocolate with "blush" (pink) and "sweetleaf" (green). I also always love the crisp look of white grosgrain ribbon against almost anything!

I thought this stamp set was perfect to pair with the MojoMonday card sketch challenge MOJO232.

What do you think? I am considering creating another card with this bunny, but somehow take a "bite" out of him... What are you making for Easter?

(I apologize that my photos are not coming out well. I was gifted a hand-me-down camera that I don't know how to use yet and it keeps loosing all of my settings!)
