Artbooking in August! Project #3! Mini Book

Welcome to Week #3 of the Artbooking in August Blog Hop. Last week's artwork was so phenomenal and this week over 35 creative consultants are at it again!

Our challenge is to create 4 different projects using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and any CTMH paper pack.  Our mission is to design each of the following. This week I chose a the Mini Book!

1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book
4. Home decor or 'giftable' item

If you arrived here from Jan's Blog you are on the right track!

(Remember this is a circular blog hop and if you get lost or confused along the way, the list is posted on Adeline's blog here.)

Now let's take a look at that Mini-book I mentioned...

I used my Artbooking Cartridge to create a flower girl photo album! I made a horizontal and a vertical version. (The book is a small clear plastic album you can find at Michaels or Dollar Stores that holds 4 x6 photos. I decorated the front and back of the covers.)

I used Lucy bulk papers as my base. The flip side of the paper is used to cut the word "Girl".

The flower was cut from page 80 of the booklet. I layer a whisper grey cut onto the pink side of the Lucy paper and added glitter gel to the outermost edge. The petal cuts in the center I inked with pigment ink in cotton candy and left them raised. The pink button made the perfect center!

This is is the inside of the album. This cricut shape matches perfectly to the memo stamp included in the bundle. I had to set my machine on "8". I am going to use this accent to journal the Bride and Groom's name, Flower Girl name, Date, place, etc... This way my daughter will always remember when she got to be a flower girl!

This is a small accent I added to the back cover of the album. "Sweet Heart". This is what I keep saying in my head when I see the photos again. "awww, she was such a sweet heart!" hehehhe.

Hope you like my project!

Now hop over to Jane's Blog to see what she has created!

"For Always" Flower Girl Scrapbook Layout!

This is my third 2 page scrapbook layout made using the "For Always" Paper Pack from Close To My Heart! I found inspiration for the design of this layout from a sketch I saw in the New Idea Book (that comes out February 1st). It was actually an example of a Studio J Digital Scrapbooking template, but I made mine in paper this time! You can say I "scraplifted"!

I am really loving how the title came out. I used the black glitter Glamour adhesive alphabet stickers! So easy and so fun! I also added the black sparkle swirls as an accent underneith.

I wrote in to the corporate office and asked if they would consider putting Washi Tape in the New Idea Book... someone was listening! We now carry our first roll of Washi Tape! I have never used it before, but have seen it as an up and coming trend in paper crafting magazines. This is my first time trying it out and I LOVE it! It is really cute and easy to use. I like the torn edges and that it the polka dots are see through!

Hope you have had fun checking out my "For Always" scrapbook pages. This will be Layout #3 that we create at the Feb. 23rd class.

Happy Crafting!
