Tuesday Trigger, Shimmer and Shine!

It's time to sparkle!

As a Close to My Heart Consultant I was able to preview the NEW "Whooo' Your Valentine" Kit early! When I first saw the Silver Glitter Paper (available in February 2012) it knocked my socks off! Love at first craft! It really does shimmer and shine! So when I saw this Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World Blog- I had the perfect excuse to put it to use!

Shimmer and Shine, Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo.
Silver and Gold and shiny fancy metallics! It's just one thing I love about the Christmas Season- a reason to celebrate and get glitzy! Here is the card I created while inspired by this photo (and also keeping my most bling loving friends in mind).

I used this sketch from Mojo Monday The Blog as my design. This one is Mojo207. The first week of the month at Mojo is contest week! Play along for your change at the winnings! :)

I used the sparkle paper with my scallop punch and I am happy to report that it impressed me! The glitter falloff on my workspace was minimal and the punch worked without any extra effort! I am impressed with this new Paper!

When I think metallic and shiny I reach for my embossing powders and heat gun right away! This time I COMBINED my silver and gold embossing powders as an experiment to just see what would happen. (Those who know me understand this is very out of my comfort zone- I am usually very diligent to return each respective powder to its own personal vile... I just had to make a new vile for this concoction!) I love how it turned out! It adds more dimension then the flat silver would have been alone. What do you think?

What fancy blingy things have you created this Christmas?

Announcing my first CTMH Card Workshop!

-Do you need to stock up on handmade cards, and get them done now so they are ready for giving?
-Have you always wanted to MAKE cards but need to learn how?
-Are you an experienced paper-crafter who would like to try out some new techniques and new products?
-Do you deserve and need a Sunday afternoon of "ME" time?

If you answered "yes" to ANY of the items above I have the answer for you! :D

I will be hosting my first Close to my Heart CARD making workshop on Sunday June 26th 2011 from 1-4 pm. I will have materials and layout "recipes" ready for us to create 12 handmade cards. You will have access to my stamp supplies, tools, and ME so that I can answer any questions as we walk through how to make each card. The cost of the workshop is $18 which will cover the cost of materials. (That is $1.50 per card!- versus over $4.00 for a less interesting store-bought card!) Our goal will be to get through all 12 cards, but if we run out of time or you need to leave early, don't worry. You can take the little "kits" I am creating for each card with you! (we will have a break in the middle for a light snack).

I will host this workshop at my home. I have 8 spots at my dining room table. Please RSVP to me by the 20th so that I can prepare our kits. If we have more then 8 interested I can add other tables, or we can move our location down the road to a local school or government building. Feel free to invite your paper crafting friends to attend with you. The more the merrier, as long as I know by the 20th.

OUR PROJECTS for June 26th:
-Summer Birthday Cards
-Summer Wedding Cards
-Summer Thank You Cards

Please send me a message if you are interested and I will save your spot and keep you in the loop on location. Mark your Calendars and keep in mind that I will be hosting a similar SCRAPBOOK Workshop in July.

I'm a NEW Consultant with Close to my Heart!

I am excited to announce that I am a NEW Consultant with Close to my Heart! I am your access to state of the art paper crafting supplies (clear stamps, inks, papers, embellishments). If you have any questions about card making or scrap-booking, or want to learn more about the newest techniques, let me know. I can show you how!

I have been taking the online courses that CTMH offers to Consultants. I have my "CTMH Bachelor's Degree" and I am working on my "Masters". I have been creating sample card layouts and just plain having fun with my new products! I am planning to host workshops for cards and scrapbook pages where you can attend for the just the cost of the materials we use!

You can visit my CTMH website at www.HeatherJane.myctmh.com to learn more about our products, view artwork I have created, and see my calendar. You also have access to view our clearance items and our online catalog which you can purchase online through my site.

WHY did I decide to sign up?
- I have a lot of scrap-booking to catch up on. (mostly of my two children!)
- I have been scrap-booking and card making for years
- I have grown frustrated with the selection I find at the big box stores in my area
- I want to use my passion, talents, and hobby as a way to raise some extra money for my family
- I want to show others how easy it is to get started creating your own handmade cards and scrapbook albums
