Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger and Repition Entry!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: "Envy Becomes You"

When I saw this Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab Blog, "Envy Becomes You", I jumped out of my seat yelling "Stella!"... (I think you can picture it... :)  LOL!)

I was so excited to create this card! The Damask pattern in the inspiration photo matches the Stella Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart. I cut the squares from paper in the "Flirty" Kit and tipped them on the sides to mimic the pattern of the bows on the fancy shoes. The regal feeling of the patterns and colors made me think of romance and love, which is why I used it as a title/sentiment.

I entered this card in the Repetition Challenge on the Moxie Fab Blog because the diamond squares are repeated to create a pattern.

Spatter Technique Challenge, Footloose Preview!

This spatter technique challenge at Moxie Fab World Blog caught my eye the moment I saw it! I've actually been looking for an excuse to get my spatter spray pen out again and make something other then snow with it. So what's the opposite of snow? SAND! (have you been working with a spatter technique? You could play along too!)

This is one of the layouts I made with my "Footloose" Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart. It was screaming for "sand"! Plus, I had some great pictures of my son spending the day playing in sand.

I used a spray pen + pearl paint + dessert sand reinker = golden glimmering sand.

You don't have to worry about getting the spatter just right because we will be placing photos on top of it and the sand will act as a detailed backdrop.

For the horizon line of this 2 page layout I used blue sky (or blue water) patterned paper. (You interpret it how you see fit). I added the zip strip bands to look like sand dunes in the distance (or a shoreline). The title is made with the color ready adhesive alphabet from the While Supplies Last section of my website. You can also use your Cricut to cut title letters for this page.

Supplies:

- Footloose workshop on the go kit
- Spray Pens
- Create-a-shade paint in "Pearl"
- Dessert Sand (brown) Re-inker
- Color Ready Adhesive alphabet

First 7 Days Layout

I created these scrap book pages to feature the details from my Son's first week in the world.

I took notes about his first bath, his hospital visitors, when we went home, the price of gas, the weather, etc. I am going to write the information in by hand so that it is in my hand writing. Each spot that is indicated by "3x3" is where I will put a photo for each day.

Tuesday Trigger Inspiration Photo

I was inspired for my layout and color choices by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. Let me know if you see the resemblance or not. :)

Saying goodbye to a best friend

A friend of mine at work has had a very special relationship with her German Shepard. They spent many memorable years together taking care of each other. I have always loved hearing stories about her and her beloved pooch. We would laugh at funny pictures of him wearing a towel around his head after a bath and looking very "fiddler on the roof". I have always adored his puppy photo which my friend has always kept on her desk. (I have been secretly jealous because I do not have a puppy photo of my Dog because he was full grown when we adopted him.)

When my friend had to say goodbye to her canine friend, after he turned ill, my heart was heavy imagining how she must feel. A whole chapter of her life was spent with him by her side. An unforgettable chapter. When another office friend suggested we get a card I jumped at the opportunity to create a special handmade version just for her.

I created this card to celebrate the very special relationship between a Dog and his loving owner. I kept it streamlined and simple. No fuss or fluff. Just summarizing. "Unforgettable". Sometimes with a sympathy card it is easy to go overboard and over do it, because there is so much you feel and so much you want to say. But what you really want to say is "I'm thinking of you".

I have entered this card in the call for submission at Moxie Fab World Blog, 365 Cards Week: The Celebrating Relationships Challenge. National Dog Day is Aug 26th.

The layout for this card is based on the CFC29 sketch at the "CAS-ual Fridays" Blog. A Weekly Challenge blog dedicated to CAS, Clean and Simple Designs.

"You got a new job" Card!

This is a very special card for my Sister-in-law, whom just got promoted to a NEW JOB! We are so excited for her that I had to make this card to share in the celebration. When I saw the Mojo Monday sketch challenge for this past week I knew that it would work for what I wanted to do on this card. I also see that it will fit a call for entry for "Encouragement" cards on Moxie Fab. (Links will be at the bottom of this post)

I used shades of Petal, Dusty Plum, and Lagoon for my color combinations on this card. For my circle accents the main accent is from the Lagoon Mini Medley pack from Close to my Heart. The other two circles are stamped and punched with a 3/4" circle punch from Stampin' Up. The words are from the You and Me stamp set from CTMH.

I can't wait to give her this card tonight before she leaves town from having visited for Thanksgiving!

Check out the Challenges that I entered this card in! Maybe you want to play along too?
