Let's Scrap Hexagons with Jackson Paper!

It is time to jump into the NEW Jackson paper from Close To My Heart! This is Layout #1! I could NOT wait to cut into this paper set. I took it with me to the big Boyne Scrapbooking retreat the first weekend of May. (My Mother's Day gift- an escape from day to day responsibilities, it was Oh so nice!)

I had the help of this beautiful sketch challenge from the Let's Scrap Sketches Blog! It "had me at Hexagons". The stamp set that goes with Jackson has hexagons in it, couldn't be a better pairing!

This is my interpretation of the hexagon cluster on the sketch template. I used a few word stamps to add subtitles here, as well as room to journal if needed. The diamond shapes were so quick and easy to add, self adhesive accents from the "Brave Enamel Shapes" (Z3073- $6.95).

This accent cluster is one stamped hexagon, one paper punched hexagon, and one enamel diamond.

I used paper scraps to create pennant shapes and layered an enaml shape and a stamped hexagon on top.

Hope you can join us for our Jackson Workshop on June 13th! Invite your friends. We will create the layout above as one of the 4 layouts we will make. You also could choose to create a set of 15 cards. More project photos will be posted soon!

Happy Crafting!

Chalk It Up! Scrapbook Layout #1 and Let's Scrap Sketch Challenge

I've cut into my "Chalk It Up" Workshop On The Go Kit from Close To My Heart! Let the fun begin!

I worked with a sketch challenge from "Let's Scrap Sketches" blog! They do a weekly sketch challenge that you can play along with too. It's a lot of fun!

"School Days" journaling accent, ribbon ruffle, and chipboard pieces.

Chipboard embellishments and puffy stickers!

"Picture Day" vertical ribbon ruffle anchor with more puffy stickers.

"Think Grow Learn" Title feature cricut accent.

I still need to add more photos, but I am LOVING it so far! Do you scrapbook about school?

Happy Scrapping!

Ivy Lane, Layout #3

Ivy Lane scrapbook layout #4!

I found sketch inspiration from Let's Scrap. They have a few fun sketch challenges posted in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! (NSD 2014) This is sketch 5-3-14. When I created my layout I mirrored this sketch to make my 2nd page. It worked beautifully for this kit.

The sketch suggested a pennant shape... The Ivy Lane Scrapbooking kit just so happened to have exactly that! (I LOVE when things fall into place!)

The extra zip strip sentiments were perfect for my layout!

I used this layout to document the day my Husband asked me to Marry him! Do you have a page in your Wedding Album telling the story of your proposal?

Ivy Lane, Layout #2

Ivy Lane scrapbook layout #2! Green and purple combo.

Page one of the layout was made working from sketches I found under the National Scrapbooking Day (NSD 2014) Challenge from Let's Scrap! There is a lot of fun activity going on there this month!

"Pure, Simple, Wonderful You". A great sentiment to anchor my photos on the 2nd page of my layout.

Purple Glitter Gems!!!

Kraft Title. I used this layout to showcase photos from our Honeymoon. Appropriately titled "Mini-Moon". We visited a butterfly house on Mackinaw Island, so when I was looking for accent piece for the sketch- it worked great to just contour cut the butterfly from a photo I had taken!

Hope you can join us at class to create this layout on June 5th 2014!

It's Spring Time!

Spring is here! I am so Happy! :)

Spring inspired this 2 page layout! I Loved the polka dots and butterflies in the soon to arrive paper pack called "Dotty for you" from Close to my Heart. I also noticed the cute polka dots in the letters of the words "Spring Time" from the stamp set "My Peeps". I decided these fun polka dot accents would make a great pairing!

I love the cheerfulness of the polka dots and the beautiful bright colors that go together so well! Because these papers all go together so well I thought of them right away when I saw this Sketch Challenge at the Let's Scrap (Ning) group!

I have been having a lot of fun with the NEW adhesive springs! This was a perfect excuse to use them. I attached one end of the peel and stick spring to the back of the "Springtime" wording. The other end I stuck to the page protector after I had the layout inside. I've never used a spring in an album before, but I think it will do well- the spring flattens down to about the height of the foam tape.

When I was trying to decide what to use for the horizontal element on this layout I was stumped until a light-bulb went off in my head! One of the papers in this pack is multi colored chevron stripes- so I picked the color I thought added good contrast and trimmed it out!

The colors I used fit with the ColourQ challenge #130!

Pemberley Workshop Preview! Part 2

I couldn't wait to dig into the Pemberley Workshop on the Go Kit and make a 2nd two page layout!

Navy Blue is such a popular color right now, so I was very excited to see what I could create based on that. Scrapbooking is a great way to cure the winter blues! (See what other crafters are creating to Cure their winter blues at the Moxie Fab World Blog).I used "Outdoor Denim" cardstock as the base then built upon it with the B&T Duo papers from Close to my Heart. I cut the paper flower from the patterned paper and used it as an accent in the middle of the photos on the 2nd page. I found a flower in the pattern that did not have any other leaves or petals overlapping on it so that it would look good standing alone. I also added some sponging in outdoor denim ink to the edges of the photo mats.

I found the inspiration for this layout on the blog "Let's Scrap!". This layout was in the gallery. I didn't know the exact measurements so I created my own interpretation. This layout will be home to one 5x7 and four 3 1/2 x 5 photos! My mom loves blue, so I think maybe some photos from Mother's Day or her Birthday would be appropriate for this layout.
