1st Grade Urban Layout

January is the month with #1 assigned to it. The first challenge at Heart 2 Heart for this month (and so far this year) has the #1 as a theme. What project can you create with a #1 in it? I used this as a chance to start scrapping the current school year for my Son and got his 1st Grade layout started! (You have until the end of this month to play along).

I used the colors and papers from the Urban Collection for my layout. I was very excited about how well my Son's school picture coordinated with the papers.

For the design of my layout I was inspired by a sketch challenge over at Let's Scrap! You have until halfway through this month to play along with this challenge too!

I used the new color, Peacock, as the base to my layout. It is a beautiful shade of teal-ish blue! It coordinates in beautiful contrast to the yellow and grey shades.

Hope to see you enter your projects at H2H and Let's Scrap!

Heart 2 Heart Sketch Challenge

I LOVE a sketch challenge! I'm so excited that this is the current challenge over at Heart 2 Heart!

I decided to apply this sketch to a scrapbook page since I need to work on my Wedding Album. I thought the circles could look like rings!

I used the NEW Cricut bundle, Artistry, from Close To My Heart for the diamond on my ring. I also used glitter paper for the solid layer of the diamond. The stars under the diamond are a stamp from the October Stamp Of The Month! (It's not JUST for Christmas!)

The sketch was so much fun! I hope you can play along too. Just post your entry by the end of the month!

Happy Crafting!

Chalk It Up! Scrapbook Layout #1 and Let's Scrap Sketch Challenge

I've cut into my "Chalk It Up" Workshop On The Go Kit from Close To My Heart! Let the fun begin!

I worked with a sketch challenge from "Let's Scrap Sketches" blog! They do a weekly sketch challenge that you can play along with too. It's a lot of fun!

"School Days" journaling accent, ribbon ruffle, and chipboard pieces.

Chipboard embellishments and puffy stickers!

"Picture Day" vertical ribbon ruffle anchor with more puffy stickers.

"Think Grow Learn" Title feature cricut accent.

I still need to add more photos, but I am LOVING it so far! Do you scrapbook about school?

Happy Scrapping!

Ivy Lane, Layout #3

Ivy Lane scrapbook layout #4!

I found sketch inspiration from Let's Scrap. They have a few fun sketch challenges posted in honor of National Scrapbooking Day! (NSD 2014) This is sketch 5-3-14. When I created my layout I mirrored this sketch to make my 2nd page. It worked beautifully for this kit.

The sketch suggested a pennant shape... The Ivy Lane Scrapbooking kit just so happened to have exactly that! (I LOVE when things fall into place!)

The extra zip strip sentiments were perfect for my layout!

I used this layout to document the day my Husband asked me to Marry him! Do you have a page in your Wedding Album telling the story of your proposal?

Ivy Lane, Layout #2

Ivy Lane scrapbook layout #2! Green and purple combo.

Page one of the layout was made working from sketches I found under the National Scrapbooking Day (NSD 2014) Challenge from Let's Scrap! There is a lot of fun activity going on there this month!

"Pure, Simple, Wonderful You". A great sentiment to anchor my photos on the 2nd page of my layout.

Purple Glitter Gems!!!

Kraft Title. I used this layout to showcase photos from our Honeymoon. Appropriately titled "Mini-Moon". We visited a butterfly house on Mackinaw Island, so when I was looking for accent piece for the sketch- it worked great to just contour cut the butterfly from a photo I had taken!

Hope you can join us at class to create this layout on June 5th 2014!

Happy Birthday, Freshly Made Sketches #57

Happy Birthday Card made with a Freshly Made Sketch!

This sketch was a lot of fun! Since they said I could use any shape I used a rectangle for my sentiment. Instead of ribbon and a bow I used a strip of paper and cut out a shape from one of my patterned papers. I made it more dimensional by using 3D foam tape.

Supplies
  • Freshly Made Sketch Challenge
  • "You and Me" Paper pack from CTMH (retired)
  • "Victory" Paper pack form CTMH (current)
  • "Look Who's" Stamp set from CTMH
  • Colonial White Card and Envelope
  • 3D Foam Tape

Manger Scene, Merry Monday #36

I am LOVING playing along with the card sketch challenges at "Awlays Playing with Paper"! The Merry Monday challenge is forcing me to prepare my Christmas Cards now, it is just the fire that I need lite! :)

I flipped my sketch on its side to create my card with a Manger Scene.

I am having a lot of fun with this stamp set, "Glory to God", from Close to my Heart.

Swiping is one of my new favorite techniques! The stamp from this set that shows Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus is perfect for this technique because it is a solid silhouette. I ink it up like I would normally, but in my last ink tap I slide it instead of pounce it. If you haven't tried this yet I know you will love it when you do!

I cut this one inch star on my Cricut with the Art Philosophy Cartridge. I used the Gold Metallic Marker from the duo marker set and colored it in before putting it on my card with 3D Foam Tape. I also used the marker to accent the hay and the Halo on the Manger Scene.

Hope you like it!

Sketch Challenge from Scrap Much

I stumbled upon a new sketch challenge site! "ScrapMuch", They post a new sketch each Friday! This is going to be a lot of fun!

Sketch from "Scrap Much" 1st week of Sept.

So, as you can see I had some trouble trimming down my photo content! I just loved all the photos so much! I did TRY to keep to the layout of the sketch and just added a few extras. :)

I love this quote! I was so excited to find it on a retired Close to my Heart stamp set called "Love you forever".

Wonderland Card H2H84

I was playing around with my "Wonderland" kit and decided to create a card with the leftover scraps from creating my Scrap Book Layouts. I really am in love with the mitten from the stamp set that comes with the kit. It is adorable!

I added some prisma glitter to it with the glue pen and cut in between the mittens and up under the string so that I could loop it over the "closeline". I glued the background mitten to the card base and then used the 3D foam tape to pop the foreground mitten. I love how it makes it appear to actually be hanging on the clothesline!

I followed the layout from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog for the design. Follow my link to the H2H Blog to see what others have created with the same layout challenge. Maybe you want to play along too?

Combined Challenge and Inspiration

I am on a bit of a challenge kick lately! I am just so excited by the inspiration the challenges bring to me! In this card I combined both a card sketch challenge AND an Inspiration trigger. The sketch layout challenge is from this week's Heart to Heart challenge blog. I paired this layout with the inspiration I found in the "Tuesday Trigger" from the Moxie Fab World Blog. So these are the two pictures I starred at while coming up with my plan for my card...

I came up with an Apple themed "with Gratitude" Card. It is perfect for giving with a gift for the Teacher you appreciate. I used the yellow patterened paper (CTMH Mayberry B&T Duo Papers) to create the "layered" look from the inspiration dessert. The Apple (CTMH Stamp Set from the Mayberry Kit) is a focused accent on the top layer, just like the inspiration desert.

I hope you like my creation and I can't wait to see what other ladies came up with based on the same challenges! I will be keeping an eye on it!
