Scholastic Scrapbook Class Preview!

TaDa! I am so excited to show off the Scholastic Scrapbook pages that I designed with the Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart! This is one of my favorite kits from the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book! (Blame my inner nerd that always loved school!) Perfect for back to school (or the class photos you are getting back now), bookworms, readers, Librarians, boys or girls!

I have designed 4 fun 2 page layouts for us to create! You will have the chance to use some of my inks and stamp sets at class if you like. (Some designs use stamp sets not included in the kit)

Layout #1
Layout #2
Layout #3
Layout #4

The Scholastic Scrapbook Class will be held on December 29th. A perfect chance to relax after the Holidays! You will go home with 8 pages ready for photos!

Please RSVP and order your supplies by December 14th. This is the last date to order by to be sure our items will arrive ahead of time. I like you to have time to trim your papers before class so that we have more time for stamping and crafting during class. I will provide a cutting guide for you.

***NOTE: The Scholastic supplies were recently listed as "retiring" which means once what is in stock is sold, it is gone and not re-stocked. If you LOVE this kit you might want to order sooner then the suggested RSVP date. Keep in mind if you order online you will have access to the newly stocked "while supplies last" clearance section as well!

I hope you can join us! Watch for future posts featuring each layout in more detail! Please contact me if you have any questions.

Pear and Partridge Layout #4

This is my forth layout that I created with my Pear and Partridge Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to My Heart! I created it as a monochromatic base by building the sketch with neutrals and similar Greens. (I did this because I knew I would load the pages with photos that feature Red- resulting in pages that are Christmas colored red and green!)

I love the Heart 2 Heart Challenge sketches and this layout is made based on sketch 20! If you enjoy working with sketches you should visit the blog to look through the ideas there. They are all made using Close to my Heart supplies too! You can play along also!

I fell in love with the zip strip that read "Christmas is a Time for Sharing". It was perfect to feature sharing Christmas with my sister who lives out of town!

I LOVE my baker's twine! I thought my red version would make a great candy cane inspired accent on this Christmas page. I tied them in tiny bows and then cut them at varied lengths.

Hope you are starting to feel the Magic of the Christmas Season!

Pear and Partridge Layout #3

I am feeling very festive! Scrapbooking photos from Christmas past has me looking forward to this year!

My third Christmas Scrapbook layout is made using the Pear and Partridge Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart. These papers were perfect for a page I wanted to make for my Daughter!

The layout design is based on a sketch from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 book, page 30, sketch 13. I love when a photo works out to be a cut out, or in this case, what I call a "border buster". The subject was clean and had no other objects in the way, there was a crisp line between her and the background, which made her easy to trim out. Her piggy-tails were just so cute and letting them pop out past the border of the sketch brings them extra attention!

I used my Alphabet Stamp Set, "Token", to add an attractive title and accented it with a Red Grosgrain bow. I used the same stamp set to create the numbers for the year. I made them smaller by punching them out with my small circle punch. The letters are punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch from Close To My Heart.

Hope you like it!

Pear and Partridge Layout #1

I'm so excited to share the layouts I have created with Pear and Partridge for Christmas! Here is layout #1.

The design of this layout is based on the brochure tutorial that is included in the workshop on the go kit from close to my heart. It can also be found in the Make It From Your Heart volume 1 book of sketches, Sketch 14 page 32. I used photos from my Son's first Christmas! I added a few extra photos to the space at the top!

I used the glittery rub ons from the kit as accents on both pages. They are a lot of fun and offer a finished polished look that is really easy and quick!

I did a little stamping too! I stamped the Christmas Tree and added a red sparkle from the kit. I also stamped a border under the red strip of Cranberry cardstock along the top. Also, my favorite sentiment from the stamp set, which reads "I'll never forget this Christmas because..."

What fun Christmas Projects have YOU been working on? Have you used your Pear and Partridge supplies yet?

Moonlight Scrapbook Bonus Extra Layout

Have you gotten your Halloween photos printed? I'm wanting to get mine printed and in my albums before my camera fills up with Holiday Photos! This is an extra layout I created with the scraps left over after I designed 4 layouts using the Moonlight Workshop on the Go Kit from Close to my Heart.

I used the Moonlight Compliments Dimensional Elements as chipboard accents. I really like the title, "A Haunted Halloween".

I combined what I had left of my Haunted Assortment gems with the banner pieces from the Complements. They look great together!

What do you think?

Okay, now that I have Halloween out of my system... standby for Thanksgiving and Christmas ideas!

Moonlight Scrapbook Layout #4

I couldn't wait to use the new tulle ribbon from Close to my Heart! My 4th Moonlight 2 page scrapbook layout was the perfect place!

I used the black Tulle Ribbon along the bottom band of both pages. You can see it more clearly in the next photo.

Using the Tulle over a contrasting color created a great Halloween texture!

Chipboard pumpkins anchor a zip strip title. "Pumpkin Parade"

More Chipboard elements as journaling accents! Embellished with different sizes black adhesive backed gems.

Haunted Assortment large gems on penant shapes cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

Hope you like it!

Moonlight Scrapbook Layout #3

This is my third scrapbook layout created using the "Moonlight" kit from Close to my Heart. What I love about the Moonlight kit is that it can be used for more then just Halloween- which it is also perfect for!

I thought these papers were perfect to showcase my "Messy Eater"!

I created the Messy Eater title with my Art Philosophy Cartridge and cut this shape in half from what it was originally. (Making two pieces that look just like this one!) I used my Archival Black ink, Haunted Assortment embellishments, and the Cocktail Alphabet Stamp Set.

What do you think?

Moonlight Scrapbook Layout #1

My first layout with moonlight is for my daughter's ultrasound photos! I know what you are thinking... " isn't this the Halloween kit?" Well, it works perfectly for Autumn themes too. My daughter was born in the fall. But, what makes it even more special for us is that we truly believe we have an owl for a stork! Just before we confirm we are pregnant we have a significant run in with a rarely seen owl.

Supplies:
  • Moonlight workshop on the go kit
  • Make it from your Heart sketch book Volume 1
  • Keepsake alphabet stamp set
  • Lucy stamp set
  • Smokey plum ink pad
  • Haunted assortment gems
  • Sparkles assortment (grey)

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to the October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month's stamp set is titled: "Very Merry Christmas" (a set of 11 stamps)... That's right, Christmas, is just around the corner. This is the perfect time to stock up on project inspiration and supplies before the Christmas crunch. You are sure to find inspiration on this hop!
If you arrived here from Pam's Blog, "Pam's Clearly Crafty Corner", then you are on the right track! After you view my creations you will find a link at the bottom of this post to the next Consultant on the hop.

My layout is based on the current sketch at Let's Scrap Ning Blog site.

My favorite stamp from this stamp set is the ornament hands down! I stamped it in cranberry ink and heat embossed with clear to make it shine. When I put it on my layout I used the 3D foam tape to make it pop and create a shadow under it. I added the bow at the top to make it fancy. I really like how it turned out.

Another accent I create was the snowflake shape. I stamped it in bamboo and embellished it with tiny round crystals.

The mitten also looks great with crystal embellishments, this time I used square ones.

"Christmas Cheer" was the perfect journal accent for these pages! I stamped it on a chipboard piece and sponged the edges.

Supplies:
  • October Stamp of the Month: "Very Merry Christmas"
  • Mistletoe Paper Pack
  • Craft Heater
  • Clear Embossing Powder
  • Ink: Cranberry and Bamboo
  • Color Ready Ribbon
  • Pewter Brads
  • Chipboard Pennant Shape
  • Crystals Square and Round

Now hop on over to Laura's Blog, "Starbreeze Designs", and see what she has created!

Sketch Challenge from Scrap Much

I stumbled upon a new sketch challenge site! "ScrapMuch", They post a new sketch each Friday! This is going to be a lot of fun!

Sketch from "Scrap Much" 1st week of Sept.

So, as you can see I had some trouble trimming down my photo content! I just loved all the photos so much! I did TRY to keep to the layout of the sketch and just added a few extras. :)

I love this quote! I was so excited to find it on a retired Close to my Heart stamp set called "Love you forever".

Here Comes Dakota!

The Dakota scrap-booking workshop is fast approaching! Yeehaw! It is going to be a paper-scooting good time! This was the first kit from the new book that I had to get my hands on. Then once I cut into it I made all these designs in one night!

If you are planning to attend please notice that I have labeled each photo with the layout number in the order we will create and suggested photo sizes if you would like to print and prepare photos ahead of time. The cutting guides will be provided with your kits when they arrive or emailed as a pdf. You will be going home with some amazing pages!

Layout #1: V 5x7, 3 H 3x4, 2 V 3x4
Layout #2: H 5x7, 3 V 3x5
Layout #3: 4 V 3x4, 3 Sq 3x3
Layout #4: V 5x7, 1 V 4x6, 1 H 4x6, 2 Sq 3x3
Remember that it is the foil stickers that make these layouts MORE country. If subtle country is more your think, then your pages will look just as fabulous without the stickers. But, if you want to go a little more over the top and embrace your inner cowgirl the foil stickers are just the trick!

Please bring: Adhesive, Piercing Tool, Tweezers. The rest of the supplies are in your kit or are provided by myself.

If you have not yet attended one of my classes and you would like to know more just send me a message! (heatherjanedesign at gmail dot com)

See you soon!
